H & P Industries Povidone Iodine Swabsticks, Prep Solutions, Scrub Solutions and Prep Gel Recalled due to Inadequate Microbial Testing

[Update] Multiple brands by Custom Medical Specialties, Inc. are recalled because the manufacturer did not conduct any microbial testing. The products may cause serious adverse events, including death. The affected brands are:

• Custom HSG Tray,
• Hysteroscopic Sterilization Pack,
• Custom Vein Tray,
• Custom Amnio Tray,
• Fox Chase Specials Pack,
• Abington Radiology Drainage Pack,
• Custom CT Biopsy Tray,
• HSG Tray,
• Custom Myelogram Tray, and
• Hysteroscopy Sterile Procedure Kit.

The custom surgical kits contain Povidone Iodine Prep solution which has previously been recalled by H & P Industries, Inc.

The FDA classified this recall as Class I, meaning use of the products included in the recall may cause serious injuries or death.
